Emma Filippini – Senior Partner
Emma obtained her degree from the University of Sheffield, qualified as a solicitor in 1997, and established Cohen Filippini in the same year. Emma specialises in residential conveyancing, including the purchase of new-build homes, shared-ownership matters, shared-equity schemes, and buy-to-let transactions. Emma also acts in transactions involving commercial Leases, Wills and Probate.
Simon Cohen – Partner
Simon obtained his degree from the University of Sheffield and qualified as a solicitor in 1974. Simon jointly established Cohen Filippini in 1997 and is a specialist in insurance law.
Amelia Thornton – CHARTERED Legal Executive LAWYER
Amelia joined the firm in 2017 and is a qualified Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer. Amelia has considerable experience in acting for both private buyers and sellers, as well as companies, on residential conveyancing matters involving the examination of the legal title and supporting documentation, drafting contracts, preparing reports for clients, and assisting with buy-to-let purchases.
In addition to conveyancing matters, Amelia also has experience in drafting and preparing Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney’s, both Health and Welfare and Property and Finance, together with acting on behalf of the Executors of an Estate in connection with obtaining a Grant of Probate, or Letters of Administration, and administering the estate.
Carolyn FURNELL – Senior Legal Assistant
With over 35 years of experience working in residential conveyancing, Carolyn assists in all manner of conveyancing transactions including sale and purchase matters, dealing with both leasehold and freehold properties, as well as registered and unregistered land, re-mortgages and matters involving the Transfer of Equity.
